Inspiring wonder through the power of art. The Minneapolis Institute of Art, aka Mia, enriches the community by collecting, preserving, and making accessible outstanding works of art from the world’s diverse cultures. Mia’s collection includes over 90,000 artworks from six continents, spanning about 5,000 years. See the highlights, explore the latest, and discover what happens behind the scenes. Through artwork conservation, Mia ensures it remains accessible for future generations.

In 1883, twenty-five citizens of Minneapolis founded the Minneapolis Society of Fine Arts, committing them to bringing the arts into the life of their community. As a learning institution, Mia is committed to advancing research and sharing discoveries through presentations, publications, and partnerships with our community and across the museum field.

The tour bus leaves from the Chatfield Center for the Arts parking lot at 9:30 am and from the Best Buy parking lot in Rochester at 10:30am. Participation fee: $10. Students and seniors (65+) may attend for free. Seats are limited, registration is required.
