Pysanka : the art of Ukrainian Egg Decoration

Class Size: 10 Participants Maximum
Learn the beautiful art of Pysanka from traditional craft artist Sara Chase. In two 1.5-hour sessions, you will create a traditional or creative design on an egg using wax and a simple distributing pen called a kistka. The class fee includes the cost of all materials required to design one egg. All required tools will be available for you to use. You may expand your time creating by attending the regularly scheduled Creative Jam on Saturday morning between 10 am and 12 pm.
Sara Chase
Sara is a self-taught pysanka artist. Sara has “painted” at least 30 eggs each year over the last 40 years in preparation for Easter; that is 1200+ eggs completed. Sara taught in Chatfield public schools; she is a methodical teacher and an artist that “loves the logical process” of pysanka. She was raised in Chatfield, MN, and lives on a farm on the outskirts of Chatfield.
