MN State Capitol Art Tour

Discover the art and architecture of the Minnesota State Capitol. During this 45-minute guided walking tour you will enjoy a journey through Minnesota history portrayed in paintings, sculptures, and murals in the “architectural masterpiece inspired by influential architect Cass Gilbert”. You will experience an interior view of the second largest self-supported marble dome in the world, hear stories about the Capitol’s history, art, and architecture, and visit open government chambers. Weather permitting you will walk to the Quadriga (golden horses) on the roof.
The tour bus will leave Chatfield City Park at 11:00 am and arrive at the capitol at 1:30 pm. Following the walking tour will begin at 2:00 pm with free time to re-visit points of interest before the bus leaves at 3:30 pm. You return to Chatfield between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, depending on traffic.
